Overview

Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) is the male competitive discipline of gymnastics. Gymnasts within MAG programs use 6 apparatus consisting of floor, high bar, vault, parallel bars, pommel, and rings.

The MAG competitive program run by the Academy offers the National Levels Stream that has been designed to assist young boys to develop basic skills at a rate commensurate with their ability and need. There are 11 levels within the MAG program, and boys move from level 0 through to level 10 at their own rate. Boys have the opportunity to compete at Club, Regional, State and National level.

The initial levels (0-2) are based on fundamental skills which can be performed in choreographed routines and evaluated within the club. Gymnasts are introduced to basic conditioning, flexibility and strength. These attributes are essential in the development of the gymnastics skills.

The subsequent levels (3-10) are based on compulsory elements being incorporated into optional routines and evaluated at State based competitions.
